we are seeking a seasoned and strategic Software Lead Architect with deep expertise in data management, governance, and regulatory compliance. In this role, you will collaborate closely with clients and internal stakeholders to design and implement secure, scalable, and compliant data platform solutions. Your leadership will be instrumental in shaping the architectural vision and ensuring alignment with global data protection standards such as USGCI, GDPR, HIPAA, and others.



 



Key Responsibilities




  • Partner with clients to understand business requirements and translate them into robust data platform architectures.

  • Lead technical workshops and architecture sessions with customer stakeholders.

  • Architect and optimize solutions for large-scale, enterprise-grade datasets.

  • Apply advanced techniques for managing geospatial data, including spatial indexing and analytics.

  • Define and enforce governance frameworks, compliance protocols, and architectural standards.

  • Ensure data integrity and regulatory alignment across distributed systems.

  • Develop end-to-end architectures for data ingestion, storage, processing, access control, and auditing.

  • Create reference architectures, blueprints, and best practices for secure and compliant data platforms.

  • Embed security-by-design principles across all platform components.

  • Implement robust encryption, IAM, and secure data lifecycle management.

  • Conduct risk assessments and compliance gap analyses.

  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, DevOps, legal, and compliance teams.

  • Guide system owners and engineering leads on data standards, lineage tracking, and metadata management.

  • Mentor development teams on secure coding and data handling practices.

  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and evolving regulatory landscapes.

  • Apply architectural principles that support scalability, performance, and resilience in petabyte-scale data ecosystems.



 



Required Qualifications




  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.

  • 7–10 years of experience in software architecture, with a strong focus on data platforms and security.

  • Proven track record in designing solutions compliant with GDPR, HIPAA, USGCI, or similar regulations.

  • Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including cloud-native security tools.

  • Strong knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data lineage.

  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001, and SOC 2.



Preferred Skills




  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CIPP, TOGAF, or AWS/Azure Architect.

  • Experience conducting Data Privacy Impact Assessments (DPIAs).

  • Hands-on experience with modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery).

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Knowledge of security compliance best practices is a plus.
